FAQ
All Your Questions Answered
Boarding Requirements
Yes. Please provide us with plenty of notice of your boarding plans. This is crucial for our staff to be adequately prepared to care for your pets, and to ensure you get a space before we are left with no vacancies. This applies especially to Holiday & Summer time periods. Advanced Canine Systems does not charge a cancellation fee, so it is better to be safe and reserve early, than be sorry and left on the waiting list!
In the event of last-minute plans or an emergency situation that requires your pet be boarded without notice, we will do our best to accommodate. Please be understanding if we are fully booked, or if we have not received current vaccination documentation, your pet would regretfully not be able to board with us.
Yes. In order to provide a healthy environment for all our guests, your pets must be vaccinated as follows:
DOGS – Current DHPP, bordetella, and signed copy of Rabies Certificate, listing serial number and manufacturer of the vaccine.
CATS – Current FVRCP vaccine and signed copy of Rabies Certificate listing a serial number and manufacturer of the vaccine.
Pets must be at least 16 weeks old in order to board with us.
No. Since each pet stays in their own enclosure, and receives one-on-one attention from our staff rather than being released into a socialization yard, we are able to minimize the risk of any “unexpected surprises”. It is still important to inform our staff if your pet is intact in order for us to give proper care & accommodations.
Financial Questions
We accept cash, check, and all major credit/debit cards as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. Please be aware that all credit/debit transactions incur a 3% convenience fee.
Absolutely not! We understand that travel and pets are two very unpredictable worlds that collide in this type of business. We don’t require a deposit or charge a cancellation fee, because we know your plans are never “set in stone”. We refuse to charge you for a service you were unable to enjoy. Book a reservation worry-free at Advanced Canine Systems! If plans change, we simply request that you give us a call. This keeps us informed and allows another pet to take advantage of the opening.
Boarding will be paid at time of check-in. All Enrichments and Spa Services will be paid at check out.
We charge per night for overnight stays.
Feeding
In order to keep all of the pets visiting with us as healthy and comfortable as possible, we maintain a strict owner-provided food policy. Please bring your pet’s food in a hard plastic resealable container and our staff will feed per your instructions.
Due to potential health issues associated with serving raw meat, we are unable to serve such diets. There are freeze-dried alternatives offered at many specialty pet stores that we are able to accept. Please speak to a staff member to confirm your pet’s food can be served at our facility. **Always discuss diet changes with your veterinarian first.**
Health Concerns
Yes. We can administer oral and topical medications. We are happy to provide this service at no extra cost to you & your pet. Unfortunately we cannot offer care for pets in need of Subcutaneous injections or IV fluids.
When bringing medications for your pets, please be aware of the name of the drug, the dose (mg), administration instructions, and the reason your pet was prescribed the medication.
We tend to discourage boarding a pet with recent stitches or an open wound. It is impossible to guarantee that the wound will stay dry and infection-free in a kennel setting. It is preferred that a pet with such a wound board at a veterinary facility so the wound can be monitored closely by a veterinarian and can be treated immediately if needed. There are some cases in which we will allow a pet in this situation to board with Veterinary consent, and usually with prescribed antibiotics. Please contact our office and speak to a staff member to discuss boarding an injured or healing pet.
Facility Questions
Dogs: We offer a variety of individual accommodations based on size, temperament, and number of dogs boarding in the same enclosure. Our primary facility offers spacious indoor/outdoor dog runs with a cot and bedding. The outdoor portion of those runs offer skylights, fans and misters. While your pets enjoy the benefits of the fresh air and natural light of the outdoors, they will still be safely enclosed and covered by an insulating foam core roof for optimal temperature control.
Cats: We offer single and double Kitty Condo accommodations. Each open-air enclosure offers a full sized litter box and 1-2 comfort ledges with comfortable bedding provided. Many enclosures offer window views for sunlight and bird watching.
Yes. The cats and small animals stay completely indoors, with central heating & air conditioning.
In the dog’s areas, the building is very well insulated against extreme temperatures. However, we do rely on heating & air conditioning when needed. We continually circulate fresh air through the facility as well. We are also equipped with a water misting system along the outdoor portions of the dog runs to help cool the air.
Play yard questions
Play Yard sessions are a minimum of 15 minutes (longer sessions are available).
Each session is a minimum of $10 for 15 minutes (please see the boarding section of our site for more details)
Yes! Since each play date is always a supervised session with one of our staff members and only your pet(s), you do not have to worry about the risks associated with crowded socialization yards.
